Ninja Class Schedule
Sterling Gym is a proud member of the USA Ninja Challenge organization, which provides progressive
obstacle training, certification programs and sanctioned competitions for kids. The program
is designed to meet the requirements of a full physical fitness program for today's youth.
We incorporate standard gymnastics apparatus including rings, bars, balance beams and tumbling
surfaces. Other specialized ninja training equipment is also used such as cargo nets, traverse
walls, slack lines, ropes and ladders. Each portion of every obstacle course also includes
corresponding conditioning and flexibility stations. The desired result of this program is
to improve children's strength, flexibility and all-around athleticism.
There are six basic categories of ninja obstacles.
These categories were developed to incorporate all of the basic movements and use all of the
muscle groups of the human body.
Jumping includes box jumps, long jump, jumping over or onto obstacles, jumping from platform
to platform and even from platforms to ropes and cargo nets!
Ninjas get to climb ropes, cargo nets, pegboards and rock walls!
Swing sets have become a bit boring, so we've upped the game to swinging on gymnastics
rings, ropes, hanging ladders, hanging nunchucks and parallel bars!
There are a lot of things to traverse across in a gym: cargo nets, spotting blocks,
rock walls, pegboards, and ledges to name a few!
The ninja programs work on balancing. These training activities include balance beams,
slack lines and rolling barrels!
This category includes running, block pushing, army crawl and vaulting. In addition to
these floor skills, Ninjas also learn basic gymnastics tumbling skills.
A skill level progression system has been devised to challenge children of
different abilities and create mobility by providing step-by-step successes. In each
level, students advance based on progression of skills in the six categories of
Ninja Obstacle. Our curriculum focuses on improving and mastering specific skills,
strength, speed, and agility as well as the students' listening skills. In addition,
classes are designed to continually develop discipline, coordination and flexibility.
Sterling Gym offers classes by age and level. Students will be tested on skills during
class. Certificates will be awarded upon completion of each level. In addition, each
ninja will earn the right to wear a certain color T-shirt showing their current level.
T-shirts are available to purchase in our pro-shop.

Ninja Challenge Team
The team program allows participants to put their skills to the test both locally and
regionally at Ninja Jams. USA Ninja Challenge Jams involve children of different ages
negotiating obstacle courses containing various challenges. Ninjas compete at different
age and skill levels.
Competitors race the clock to finish the courses in their best time. A judging system
is employed to track time penalties throughout each course.
Jams also offer "Side Missions" which are individual obstacle challenges for best times
or greatest distances. There are even head-to-head races!
